The Client
The Great Minecraft Race is a charity event that brings players together around a simple idea: race against the clock to raise money and awareness. The organisers approached us with the need for a complete brand refresh and a modern digital platform. The previous website was outdated and difficult to maintain. They wanted an identity and site that could scale with future editions of the event and provide a clear structure for participants, partners and viewers.
The Challenge
The event had grown, but the digital presence did not reflect that momentum. The existing site lacked hierarchy, clarity and visual consistency, which made it hard for players to understand how the event worked and what they needed to do. The organisers needed a design system that could hold rules, winners, charity partners, merchandise and future updates without becoming chaotic. The challenge was to create an environment that felt playful and accessible while still being organised and dependable.
Our Approach
We began with a new brand direction built around energy, clarity and recognition. The visual system combines a bright palette with grounded typography to create a look that is friendly but structured. The logo set and iconography were designed to be easily reused across platforms, including animations that add personality without distracting from the information. For the website we created a clear, modular structure that guides visitors from understanding the event to joining it. Each section is separated by distinct visual markers inspired by the in-game world. Animated icons, a themed 404 page and a Hall of Fame featuring player skins add character while maintaining consistency. The layout is flexible, allowing future editions of the race to update content without redesigning the system.
